Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Training & Competence Lead to join their team to provide Maternity Cover. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of their training and competence programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Company’s training requirements as defined by the approved training procedure and the associated training matrices.
  • Manage the outsourced Training Management Service to ensure good delivery, compliance and cost effectiveness.
  • Manage the Company’s Competence Assurance Management System – DD-CAMS.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to all Candidates, Assessors, Verifiers and third-party personnel
    on the competence process.
  • Focal point for relevant internal/external audits on training & competence.
  • Organise and deliver the quarterly training and competence meeting.
  • Research and understand the training requirements in UK and International Waters.
  • Provide guidance on new training requirements and appropriate providers to the business.
  • Manage the ‘On the Job Training Programme’, where applicable.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the training database.
  • Ensure compliance with both regulatory, Client and internal requirements.
  • Organise and coordinate regular reviews of the approved training matrices and manuals involving the appropriate designated technical authorities.
  • Manage the cost of all training courses and keep within the set budget (if available), assessing the Return on Investment (ROI) for the business.
  • Ensure all training records and reports are maintained accurately and all necessary training is current
    and valid.
  • Drive the training & competence team to reach and maintain agreed training & competence levels and KPIs, as set by the business.
  • Manage and coordinate the learning management system and, where relevant, be involved in the creation of e-learning packages.
  • Manage, provide advice, guidance and support to all Candidates, Assessors, Verifiers and third-party personnel on the competence process.
  • Control and communicate changes within the CAMS system.
  • Keep up to date with developments in training and competence.
  • Liaise closely with and seek guidance from the HSEEQ function (as required) for direction on HSEQ-specific training requirements.
  • Adhere to and implement, where applicable, Company HSEEQ procedures.
  • Undertake rig visits as required.
  • Flexible approach is required and be prepared to undertake all other duties, as defined by management, relevant to the competence and ability of the incumbent.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven and relevant experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry.
  • Good working knowledge of the training requirements in the UK and International Waters
  • University/College degree (preferred).
  • OPITO Assessor and Verifier Qualification.
  • Offshore Survival (preferred)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills.
