Like many companies our client is working remotely with 2/3 days in the Bath office.

As a Shared Services Team Leader, you will ensure that the People Shared Services Team deliver an effective and efficient service to UK & US colleagues, managers and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction and the highest quality in client delivery to consistently meet and exceed SLAs and KPIs.

The work of the People Services Team is key to supporting the business, line managers and employees in all things People related.

Role Responsibilities:

Responsible for the ongoing improvement of the Shared Services Team – lead, manage and develop the team ensuring an integrated approach to service delivery and collaboration with the People Systems & Improvements Team across both the UK & US People Team

  • Recognised in the business as the face of Shared Services, meeting regularly with People BPs and Business Unit Managers to clearly manage business expectations of Shared Services across the Future global footprint.
  • Drive process standardisation and improvement within Shared Services working closely with the Systems and Innovations Manager
  • Work with the Payroll and HRIS system project managers to define and meet customer requirements
  • Organise and lead Shared Services Team meetings with directly reporting Shared Services Advisor group
  • Participate in Shared Services wider team meetings to update on monthly performance, improvement initiatives and business changes impacting the service
  • Attend People Leadership and Business meetings to represent Shared Services and contribute to operational and strategic decision making
  • Participate in Shared Services Governance Forums, leading and attending as appropriate to ensure service is managed effectively
  • Senior People specialist acting as general HR subject matter expert with direct involvement in operational ER cases where a greater level of seniority or experience is required
  • Point of escalation and arbitration to resolve long-standing or complex cases raised through the Shared Services Team or from senior business customers
  • Directly manage the performance and development of the Shared Services Senior Advisors and the Payroll Manager
  • Keep personal knowledge up-to-date through external networking and attending conferences bringing back leading edge and innovative Shared Services thinking and sharing this with the team and People Leadership.
  • Introducing and applying new methods and applications to the Shared Service Team when feasible and appropriate

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to manage diverse stakeholders and create a strong customer centric culture within an Shared Services operation
  • Manager with good influencing skills and the ability to prioritise business requirements appropriately through a collaborative partnership approach
  • Experience of building strong collaborative working relationships
  • Relationship management skills working with partner/service providers internally and externally
  • Proven experience of leading, managing and motivating a successful team
  • Proven experience of advising and supporting internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of working as part of a project team and managing project workstreams
  • Discreet with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive situation

Qualifications and Experience:

Whilst a recognised HR qualification would be preferred, we would consider applications where equivalent knowledge and expertise has been obtained via experience

  • Demonstrable success in an People Service leadership role
  • Excellent understanding and experience of working with HRIS systems
