This is a full-time permanent role, based in Edinburgh with a hybrid working pattern, offering a competitive salary. What you’ll be doing:

Understanding the Trust’s corporate requirements and standards, ensuring the correct governance mechanisms are in place and reporting on these as required.

Tasks will include:

  • Leading the end-to-end strategy, design, and delivery of early and transitioning career programmes.
  • Using quantitative people data and external trend analysis to ensure our alternative pathways pipeline aligns to organisational needs.
  • Developing alternative pathways to entry through internships, work experience and volunteering.
  • Managing the early careers experience.
  • Working closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaising with and reviewing external providers and suppliers.
  • Leading on quarterly reviews with vendors, identifying and providing feedback on areas for improvement.
  • Leading regular reviews of all our alternative pathway provision with leaders across the organisation.
  • Developing and implementing effective recruitment campaigns for early and transitioning careers programmes.
  • Contributing to the management and monitoring of the People: Organisational Development budget.

What we’re looking for:

Essential

  • Post-graduate qualifications in business management or HR / organisational development qualifications, or equivalent experience in a People consultancy environment.
  • Proven depth of experience in the design and management of careers programmes.
  • Experience and passion for alternative pathways to employment.
  • Current knowledge of the Scottish qualifications landscape.
  • Current knowledge of the Scottish qualifications funding landscape and experience of the Flexible Workforce Development Fund.
  • Experience of leading others and influencing across organisational boundaries and at a senior level.
  • Experience of managing complex projects or programmes of work.
  • Experience of using people data to provide analysis and insight to senior leaders.
  • Ability to think and operate at a strategic level.
  • Highly proficient user of IT in general.
  • Confidence and ‘presence’ to be a highly visible and highly effective team member within the Department, across the Trust, and to external stakeholders.
  • Valid UK Driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a people role in the charity/not-for-profit sector with volunteers.
  • Experience setting up new apprenticeship programmes
