Hunter Adams as part of our recruitment service are supporting a global organisation in the oil and  gas sector with sourcing a strategic Learning and Development Manager on a fixed term contract to lead their L&D function.

This is an exciting new role within a very successful organisation, based on a fabulous campus in Dunfermline.  We’re delighted that due to continued growth and business success, our client is seeking to appoint a Learning and Development Manager to identify the needs of the business and deliver L&D solutions across the organisation. In this role you will partner with key stakeholders across the organisation to formulate an effective L&D strategy, oversee its implementation and evaluate its outcomes.

Some of your key accountabilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the training team
  • Providing learning and development support and advice to managers and employees at all levels within the organisation
  • Assessing L&D options, designing and delivering training where necessary
  • Sourcing, assessing and evaluating training providers and academic institutions
  • Ensuring core competence and statutory/regulatory training is delivered
  • Supporting Managers to develop, plan and complete on-the-job training
  • Developing employees through career pathing and competency management
  • Supporting and advising on the Talent Management programme
  • Managing the training budget, apprenticeship levy budgets and external supplier relationships ensuring quality, cost effective and ethical investments are made
  • Ensuring Learning & Competency Management systems meet the needs of the business
  • Ensuring policies & procedures comply with all relevant quality standards

To be considered for this role you will be experienced in designing and implementing training solutions in a fast-paced environment.  You will ideally be CIPD qualified with a degree level qualification. You will naturally be an excellent communicator with the ability to build strong collaborative relationships across internal and external stakeholders. It would be a distinct advantage if you have experience working with Investors In People.
