Hunter Adams are delighted to be supporting The University of Edinburgh with the recruitment of an HR Business Support Team Leader.

The Business Support Team provides high quality administrative support to colleagues across the HR function. As Team Leader, you will be responsible for gathering the service needs of HR colleagues, appropriate work allocation and the coaching, supervision and development of team members, including a Modern Apprentice.

You will personally handle more complex pieces of work and support members of the HR Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and take the lead in reviewing and improving routine processes.

Responsibilities as HR Business Support Team Leader include:

  • Managing a team of 4 to provide support to HR Specialist services such as Learning & Development, Equality, Diversion & Inclusion, Resourcing & Reward
  • Management of a cohort of Case Management Administrators (6) to provide note taking service to HR Advisory community
  • Administration of functional financial budget
  • Proactively liaising with SLT members and functional team leads to identify and understand their support needs and so ensure these are taken into account in work planning and prioritisation and resource allocation
  • Ensuring team members are trained and developed to fulfill the full range of business support tasks

We’re looking for an experience Team Leader with a customer focused approach to problem solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills and a seasoned administrator who thrives under pressure and when helping others to give their best.

You will have excellent organisational and time management skills and will be for ever on the lookout for ways to simplify and streamline administrative processes.

It’s likely you will have previous experience in an HR Shared Service function within a large/complex organisation.
